The Department of Marathi, Arts and Commerce College, Satpur aims to promote Marathi language and culture. The department was established in 2008 along with the establishment of the college. Keeping the motto ‘Bahujan Hitay, Bahujan Sukhay’ in mind, the mother institute Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj intends to develop social consciousness and social vision along with the study of language and literature among the students.

   Language has become mandatory in the entire field, it also grooms the personality for successful future. By considering the need of language. the college has started special programme in Marathi. The Department offers degree program at under graduate level i.e., BA (Marathi) and follows the curriculum offered by affiliating University. The Department is functioning from main building of the college. The Department Marathi trains students in language skills and provides students with in-depth knowledge in the field of literature. The department provides intensive mentoring to students both in and beyond the classroom in variety of forums. Soft Skills Development Programme, Ongoing Lectures, Literary Association, Wall Paper Preparation, Seminar, Workshops and Field Trips are the major activities through that department grooms the students for career.
